Times may change, but the love for one's old school and college doesn't. Alma mater is always special. And it was exactly this sentiment that inspired the alumni of Lady Irwin School to give something back to the institution that had laid the foundation of their lives.
On the main agenda of Lady Irwin School Alumni Association (LISAA), formed in 2004, is revamping the old school building. So on September 21, 2005 , LISAA organized a dance recital by Padmashree Ranjana Gauhar, herself an alumnus. The funds from the event will be handed over to the school committee.
Meenakshi Verma, from batch of '66, said: “We raised around Rs. 1 Lakh. We want to repair the building and the gym that was constructed in 1952. the recent event is only a beginning. For example, there will be another dance programme in December. |
